Kane Vongsavanh Quoted in The Seattle Times on Laos Deportation Case
Vong Law Group is proud to share that our founder and partner, Kane Vongsavanh, was recently interviewed and quoted in The Seattle Times regarding a high-profile deportation case in Seattle.
The case centers on a lawful permanent resident facing removal to Laos based on decades-old fraud convictions. In his comments, Kane noted that Laos has recently accepted “upwards of 200 deportees” since January — a significant increase from past years. He emphasized the troubling fact that many of these removal cases stem from offenses that occurred decades ago, highlighting the long-lasting consequences of past convictions.
Kane also advised that Southeast Asian immigrants with removal orders should prepare proactively by gathering documentation, seeking experienced legal counsel, or turning to pro bono organizations for assistance.
We are honored to see Kane’s insights featured in this important public discussion and remain committed to advocating for immigrant communities facing complex legal challenges.
